Position Summary
At Packaging Services Industries (PSI), our people provide full-service packaging solutions and custom packaging supplies to our Mid Atlantic customers. As a Human Resources professional, you work every day to support your organization’s greatest asset: its people.You’ll ensure that our people strategies align with our production goals—helping us attract, retain, and develop top talent while fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
We’re looking for a dynamic Human Resources Generalist to join our team and support all day-to-day human resources functions for our offices in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this person will be based in our Williamsport, MD office, and provide additional remote and onsite support to our two offices in Pennsylvania. Onsite support for these additional locations may require site visits on at least a bi-weekly basis.

Key Priorities and Responsibilities:
Human Resources & Employee Relations:
- Ensure that all HR practices align with PSI’s mission and organizational goals.
- Assist employees with day-to-day questions and inquiries.
- Support change management initiatives, from new technology rollouts to process improvements.
- Manage HR filing and assist with benefits compliance mailings and packets.
- Manage the Open Enrollment process by assisting employees completing enrollment, tracking enrollment, and facilitating the Evidence of Insurability (EOI) process.
- Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, enrollment, eligibility, and claims issues.
- Partner with PSI Leadership to develop and implement human resources strategies that align with PSI's business goals.
- Partner with supervisors and managers to support workforce planning.
- Manage full recruitment process: ATS administration, screening applications, conducting phone, virtual and onsite interviews.
- Guide new employees through the onboarding process, and lead new hire orientation sessions.
- Assist Leadership with coordinating training programs for skills development and leadership growth (SkillPath, JJ Keller, AICC, or similar).
- Maintain employee records in HRIS system, including all benefits, pay records, and personal information.
- Optimize PSI’s HRIS, ensure the system is being fully utilized, analyze HR metrics (turnover, absenteeism) to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions.
- Communicate system updates and conduct any necessary training with PSI employees.
- Complete unemployment inquiries and represent PSI in unemployment hearings, as needed.
- Assist employees and managers in workers’ compensation claim issues and facilitate claim submission.
- Associate's degree in business administration or related field. May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on HR coordinator/generalist experience required with experience in employee relations, compensation (including timekeeping and payroll processing), benefits administration, recruitment and talent management, HR process flow management, and HR administration. Experience as an HR professional in a manufacturing, production, and/or distribution environment is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to build trust and rapport with employees at all levels.
- Collaborative strategic thinker with the ability to develop and translate human resources initiatives into actionable plans.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred (but not required).
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment and ACA laws and requirements.
- Experience with HRIS systems (ADP, UKG, Paycom, or similar) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and objective in challenging situations
- A pro-active hands-on approach and a genuine passion for supporting people and improving workplace culture.

Total Compensation Package includes:
PSI offers an excellent compensation and benefits package to full time employees, including:

- Starting pay range is $55,000 to $62,500,000 annually
